Francophone elite group referees training

 Castres September 8 to 11

The course that took place in Castres with 3 Tunisian referees (H Boukid, A Ben salah, H Barouhn) and 2 Malagasy referees (Rakatoniasi Thierry, Ravelonahiana Jocelyn) was within the context of the agreement signed between Castres Olympique and the Confederation of African Rugby. The aim of this project is to detect young referees showing some potential and to guide them in order to help them reach their best practice levels.

During this course, our young game directors had the opportunity to referee 3 friendly games (U23 CO- Blagnac, U16 CO, U16 Lavaur, Aviron Castrais, Labessonié). Besides, they benefited from the wise advice of Hervé Dubès, Top 14 Referee, IRB Trainer, A Gallard ex professional Coach, IRB Trainer of Trainers and JL Barthès IRB RDM.

Finally, the whole group had the pleasant surprise and pleasure to welcome D Méné, President of FFR's Central Commission of Referees and Bernd Gabbei, IRB Manager of the High Level Access Network for Referees.

A future meeting to which various referees' coaches will take part is planned in March 2012.

To be noted that A El Bakri from Morocco and I Ndri Kan from Côte d'Ivoire were not able to attend owing to the French embassies of their respective countries giving them an appointment in order to submit their files several weeks after their return dates...
